"Miz" Collins' letter, nonsense. Metzger's letter, nonsense. The first states that all Republicans are Satan in sheep's clothing and the second wants to start erasing amendments to the Constitution. It's true we are a Republic and, yes, Lugar should be voted out of office. He is a "yes man" and has left his conservative roots, siding with liberals most of the time.
Where is your sanity, Mr. Hively? Many, many retirees in the U.S. have their 401k's and retirements tied up in all the companies you mentioned. Why invest your retirement in a failing company? You invest in what is making money. Think of the thousands of employed oil workers who will be added to the unemployment lines if their jobs are taken away from them for six months or more. And the fact that if we stop our oil production, that makes us even more dependent on foreign oil, in addition to jobs lost as well as retirements.
The major problem with our country today is the man who is supposed to be sitting in the oval office and his thugs. The V.P. is cursing his way through his term, he is an embarrassment and should have his mouth washed out with soap.
Obama has never held a "real job" and has no clue how to handle a national emergency. He has had offers of help to contain and clean up the oil spill. Has he accepted the help? No! The buck stops here with him! (As far as global warming, that is a non-issue.)
We must get back to our Constitution and the original reasnoning of our founding fathers. We are in a war on many fronts, and Obama wants us to lose them all.
Take a look at the rules of engagement our troops are having to follow. Because of those rules, we are putting our military in harm's way and resulting in the deaths of our soldiers.
Do you see the damage this administration is doing, on all fronts, to the United State of America? If you don't, you are blind as a bat!
Below is the 17th amendment that Metzger wants to erase:
"The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature.
"When vacancies happen in the representation of any state in the Senate, the executive authority of such state shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies.
"Provided, that the legislature of any state may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.
"This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution."
