In honor of the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carrol’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” Wagon Wheel Jr. will present a show that puts a courtroom spin on the beloved fantasy. “The Trials of Alice in Wonderland” begins Jan. 30 and answers the question: “What if Alice’s incredible experiences in Wonderland were put on trial?” according to a press release from the theater. Those interested can see the show Jan. 30, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts in Warsaw. All productions start at 2 p.m. The fast-paced and witty show is set in Wonderland’s courtroom, where Alice is on trial. The Queen of Hearts is the judge, the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and Caterpillar are witnesses, and the jury is a deck of cards. Alice must try to prove her innocence by reliving the events of her adventures, the release states. As with all Wagon Wheel Jr. shows, the cast is made up of local actors from grades second to 12th. The complete cast list is available at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts’ web page. Wagon Wheel Jr. is an organization of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts focused on fostering the arts and theater among northern Indiana youth. Besides producing multiple musical plays each year, Wagon Wheel Jr. also regularly offers acting classes hosted at the theater’s Center Street Warsaw location. All tickets are available for $12 online or at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts box office.
