Staff Report-
Kim M. Reiff and Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts are partnering to present an exhibit featuring artwork from Reiff’s “Reconnecting” series, which explores the visual and tactile nature of “being.” The public is invited to join the Wagon Wheel Visual Arts Committee for a “Meet the Artist” reception from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Coffee and light breakfast fare will be served. Those in attendance will learn about Reiff’s artistic process and her inspiration for the series of work. The two-dimensional forms of reconstructed canvas feature knotted bows that reveal, in a simple way, the complexities of reconnecting, according to a press release from the Center. Feelings of disconnectedness in mind, body or spirit may occur as a result of trauma, separation, or loss. These works were created within the paradigm that reconnecting must happen in the present, the release states. Reiff earned her master’s degree in visual arts from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. She also holds a master of business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She is chair of the Department of Visual, Performing and Media Arts at Grace College. “Reconnecting” may be viewed by the public at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts at 2515 E. Center St., Warsaw, through July 18. Additional work by Reiff is viewable at www.kimmreiff.com
