Warsaw Area Career Center (WACC) Work-Based Learning students recently recognized local employers and supervisors during the annual Employer Appreciation Luncheon presented by The Roost.
The luncheon celebrated the partnerships that help students gain valuable real-world experience while developing professional and career-ready skills outside of the classroom, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools. A total of 69 Work-Based Learning students participated in the program this year and expressed appreciation to the supervisors and employers who supported, mentored and guided them throughout their experiences.
During the event, several students were recognized for achievement and growth throughout the school year.
Joslyn Bricker was named the 2026 Work-Based Learning Student of the Year for her work with the OT/PT/ST programs at Joe’s Kids under the supervision of Alexis Waldron.
Positive Attitude Awards were presented to Eva Demopoulos, Karen Linares-Moctezuma, Margot Sprankle and Gabe Veit.
Professional Growth Awards were presented to Carson Devanathan, Taylor Meads and Drew Sutter.
Work-Based Learning Excellence Awards were presented to Kate Briscoe, Ellie Hepler, Melayna Howett, Caitlin Smalley and Griffin Williman.
WCS and the WACC extend their appreciation to the many local businesses, organizations and supervisors who continue to invest in students through Work-Based Learning opportunities each year, stated the release.
