Wabash Valley Music Association Announces Series Of Musical Programs

WABASH – The Wabash Valley Music Association will once again offer a series of musical programs for its 2011-2012 season.
All performances will be held in the Ford Theater at the Honeywell Center in downtown Wabash.
The 2011-2012 WVMA series includes:– Wabash Area Community Theater will present Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. This world-famous musical has an equally famous musical score: “Wells Fargo Station,” “Pick-A-Little, Talk-A-Little” and “Seventy-Six Trombones.”
– “My Fair Lady”, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.  Based on George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion”, this Broadway musical features hits “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and “Get Me to the Church on Time.”
– “A Rockapella Holiday”, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. A sound that seems to be impossible coming from just five guys with microphones. No instruments, no tracks, no mirrors – and their hands never leave their wrists.
– Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. One of the rising stars in classical music, Khatia Buniatishvili will make her ISO debut in one of the crown jewels of the piano repertoire – “Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2”.
– “Spamalot”, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m.  Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, Monty Python’s “Spamalot” is the outrageous new musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic “Monty Python and The Holy Grail”. This show is rated PG-13.
– “Riverdance”, March 22 at 7 p.m.  Now in its 17th phenomenal year, “Riverdance”, the internationally acclaimed celebration of Irish music, song and dance has touched the hearts of millions around the world.
– Charles Webb, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Webb, dean emeritus of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, will present an organ recital featuring music from composers like Felix Mendelssohn, Alexander Guilmant and Bach.
Tickets for the entire series went on sale Monday. Tickets are priced from $75 to $165 for adults, depending upon seat location. Series seats for youth through high school are available at half-price.  Single tickets go on sale Aug. 15.
