Allen "Big Al" Dunnagan is seeking the State House of Representatives District 22 seat.
Dunnagan (D-Wabash), 44, said he filed for the seat in February at the Wabash County clerk's office and in Indianapolis.
District 22 covers Marshall, Kosciusko and Wabash counties.Dunnagan will face either Bill Ruppel (R-North Manchester), who currently holds the seat, or Rebecca Kubacki (R-Syracuse) in the Nov. 2 general election.
It is Dunnagan's third time for seeking the District 22 seat.
He ran in the 2006 primary against Larry Rensberger (D-Syracuse), and also ran in the 2008 primary.
Dunnagan is employed as the director of activities for Miami Nation of Indians of the state of Indiana.
He said he has been campaigning door to door in Wabash County, and plans to visit Kosciusko County to campaign.
During an interview Wednesday, he said he is running for the seat because he is concerned about the economy.
"Things are still the same as when I first ran in 2006, and I am concerned about the economy getting worse, job layoffs and cuts in school funding," Dunnagan said.
