Voyeurism Suspect Sentenced

Posted
A South Bend man who took photos of a Tippecanoe Valley High School girl was sentenced Thursday.

Clint Allen Stone, 42, was arrested June 7 and charged with voyeurism, a Class B misdemeanor.

The charge resulted from an incident that took place at the school April 26.

Stone, who was at the school as a part of his route for Coffel Vending, Mishawaka, used his cellular telephone to take photos of a female student's backside.

Stone followed the student from her locker to the school's cafeteria and continued to take photos.

Once the girl was at lunch, one of her friends reportedly blocked Stone's view, and he left the building.

Stone reached a plea agreement Aug. 23 with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.

Thursday in Kosciusko County Circuit Court, Judge Rex L. Reed sentenced Stone to 180 days in jail, the maximum for a Class B misdemeanor. The sentence was suspended and Stone will complete it on probation.

Reed noted Stone had no criminal history and that his chance of recidivism was low. Reed said Stone previously had worked as a part of a South Bend Crime Stoppers group.

Reed did admonish Stone for his actions.

"It does not, however, go without saying that victim has suffered from your stupid, stupid activities," said Reed. "I don't want you to think the acceptance of your plea is acceptance of your conduct."

Stone also will have to pay a $200 fine.
