Voting Outdated

Editor, Times-Union:
The winner of District 22 will serve a two-year term, paying him a salary of more than $24,000 plus benefits for a part-time job. Most people I know working full time make less than 24K and without benefits. Maybe it is time to increase the minimum  wage in Indiana.
Whoever wins doesn’t care about their district until the next election. Most elected officials vote the party line anyway. They don’t ask their constituents their opinions. They just vote party line. Sometimes they don’t even know what they are voting for or against.
We should expect more from our elected officials, our government should be more transparent. The public feels like it no longer has a voice unless you are a fat cat with money to donate to their campaign.
Voting is a custom that is outdated. Very few people vote anyway. Mr. Dane Miller found out that candidates will say anything to get elected. When elected, they vote with their party, even if the law may not be good for America.
I’m closing my eyes to vote. Voting this way won’t make a difference anyway.
