Voting Begins Today for Burger Wars Finalists

Posted
Kosciusko County’s Burger Wars is down to eight finalists vying for the customer choice of best local burger.
Online voting kicked off today at 7 a.m. on the Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website, www.koscvb.org/burgerwars
The first round will last 10 days, followed by two one-week rounds. Winners will be announced June 9.
The eight finalists were determined by a Facebook contest on the Visit Indiana’s Kosciusko County Facebook page. The top eight are:
• The Silver Tongue Burger – Silver Tongue Food Truck
• The Hoe Burger – American Legion Post 253
• The Outrigger – Channel Marker
• Three Cheese Mushroom Steak Burger – Danny’s Sports Bar
• The Balsamic Goat Cheese Burger – Rozella Ford
• The Kick Back Burger – Downtown Eatery & Spirits
• Mickey – Schoop’s Hamburgers
• The B-Mac Burger – B-Mac’s on Buffalo
The kickoff was featured during a taste test this morning by Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer, broadcast by Indianapolis Fox 59 News.
“Eating is one of my many talents,” he remarked to host Sherman Burdette, before wrapping both hands around the Outrigger and taking a bite.
The station also recently put together a culinary tourism feature on the Cerulean and Boathouse restaurants.
Customers can vote once in each round and bracket. Voters can keep checking the website and Visit Kosciusko County’s social media pages for a chance to win prizes through mini contests held throughout the voting process.
Voters can also register and vote in each round for a chance to win the grand prize of a $100 gift certificate to one of the eight Burger Wars finalists.
Kosciusko County’s Burger War is running simultaneously with six other county Burger Wars as part of the Northern Indiana Burger Wars, sponsored by the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission and its member visitors bureaus in seven northern counties. The winner will move on to compete against the other counties for the honor of being named the Best Burger in Northern Indiana.
