The ProPEL U.S. 30 East study team is asking for Hoosiers to engage the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) as we conclude the Planning and Environment Linkage (PEL) study along U.S. 30 in northern Indiana.
The ProPEL U.S. 30 East study area extends for approximately 58 miles from Beech Road in Marshall County to the Indiana/Ohio state line in Allen County, with portions within I-69 and I-469 around the north side of Fort Wayne excluded from the study, according to a news release from INDOT.
The ProPEL U.S. 30 East study team will host a virtual, on-demand public information meeting summarizing the three-year process that it took to identify a reasonable range of alternatives for the study area that INDOT may carry forward. This information is detailed for public review in the Planning and Environment Linkages Study Report.
In addition, the ProPEL US 30 East study team published the Final Level 3 Screening Report for public review. Participate in the virtual public information meeting and view both reports at propelus30.com/.
This Planning and Environment Linkages Study Report is based on data collection efforts that began in August 2022, as well as from feedback received from public and stakeholder involvement. INDOT intends to use the information, analysis and decisions from the PEL study process to inform future federal environmental reviews conducted in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), stated the release.
