COLUMBIA CITY - Virginia Rose Wiseman, 82, of Columbia City, died at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 15, 2011, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born May 9, 1928, in Fort Wayne, to Roland "Victor" Phend and Hazlette Brubaker Ferguson.
She lived in Columbia City and Larwill until her marriage, then moved to Kosciusko County, then Noble County and later moved back to Columbia City. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1946. She worked with her mother at the Dairy Bar, North Webster, then Group Dekko for 28 years at different locations. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 253, North Webster.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Douglas (and spouse Vicky) Wiseman, Apple Valley, Minn., and Jack L. (and spouse Beesa) Wiseman, Pierceton; a daughter, Rebeckah R. Wiseman, Pierceton; 10 grandchildren, including Tami Miller, who was reared by her grandmother and in return Tami became her caregiver late in life; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Patricia Reiff, Warsaw, and Shirley Webber, Rockville, Md.; a brother, Bill (and spouse Connie) Phend, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by a her parents; daughter, Teresa J. Plybon; a sister, Phyllis Mitchell; and a great-grandson, Logan Wiseman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with the Rev. Marilyn Gebert officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill.
