LIGONIER – Virginia J. Lough, 91, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Aug. 12, 2016, at Grace Retirement Village, Winona Lake.
She was born April 14, 1925, in Indianapolis, to the late Wilbur H. and Jean K. Wrennick Hicks. On Sept. 12, 1944, she married James E. Lough, who survives in Winona Lake after 72 years of marriage.
She was a lovely woman. She really enjoyed traveling and gardening. She made beautiful quilts and had exceptional sewing skills. Lake Papakeechie was home for 40 years. She was a long-time member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Syracuse; Berea Baptist Church, Berea, Ohio; and Cosperville Baptist Church, Wawaka; Grace Bible Baptist, New Paris; and made many memories with her church family. Above all of this, spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do.
Also surviving are three sons: Mark Lough, Onekama, Mich.; Jeff (and spouse Debrah) Lough, Beavercreek, Ohio; and John (and spouse Jo) Lough, Greenbank, Wash.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Hicks.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor Mike Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
