Virginia “Ginny” Eilene Leaf, 84, Warsaw, was surrounded by family when she went home to be with the Lord at 4:42 p.m. Oct. 24, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born July 17, 1932, in Sterling, Ohio, to Gertrude June Kollert and Kenneth Norman Lance. On Feb. 27, 1954, she was married to Dick Eldon Leaf, who survives in Warsaw. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 47 years. She worked as an apartment manager for 10 years at Glen Terrace Apartments. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She was elected into the Grace College Hall of Fame for sports in 2008. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with the Grace basketball team. Everyone knew how much of a great fan she was of the Grace Lancers. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and enjoyed sewing. She made most of her own clothes, as well as her daughter’s clothes for many years. Most of all she enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren – watching the little ones grow and learn brought her great joy. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dick; her two daughters, Joy (and husband Al) Hauck and Jody Edwards, both of Winona Lake; and seven grandchildren: Matthew (and wife Sarah) Hauck, Nickalas (and wife Jessica) Hauck, Calen Edwards, Chelsea (and husband Andrew) Gregory, Trinity Moore, Savanna Moore and Brooke (and husband Michael) Zilinskas; six great-grandchildren: Zachary, Maelle, Alaina, Matthew, Hailey and Ryan; a sister, Alberta (and husband Gary) Longworth, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, Dennis (and wife Sandy) Lance, Barberton, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Joanne and Sherry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Raymond Lance. The funeral will be at noon Thursday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, with Pastor Bruce Barlow officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.
