Virginia 'Ginger' May Lundgren

Virginia “Ginger” May Lundgren, 93, Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Aug. 17, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. 


She was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Denver, Colo., to Eugene Sydney and Coletis Audrey Longcrier Zaring. On May 20, 1944, she married Paul Fredrick Lundgren who preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2003.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oswego. She graduated in 1942 from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and after finishing school she and her husband were missionaries for 36 years. Twenty of those years were spent in Pakistan.   
  

Survivors are: her son, Paul F. (and spouse Carolyn) Lundgren, Arlington Heights, Ill.; two daughters,  Winona Jean (and spouse Ray) Wakeman, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Valerie (and spouse Bryon) Weinstein, Warsaw; and two grandchildren, Bonnie (and spouse Troy) Francen, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and Sharon Lundgren, Arlington Heights, Ill. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Sara Lundgren. 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church of Oswego, 3065 E. Armstrong Road, Oswego, with Pastor Greg Harden officiating. Burial with a graveside service is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw; and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
