NORTH MANCHESTER - Virginia E. Walker, 93, of Sanford, Fla., and formerly of North Manchester, died at 4:15 p.m. June 16, 2007, in her residence.

She was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Rockford, Ohio, to John M. and Grace Stober Williams. She married Nolan D. "Bud" Walker, who died Aug. 24, 1993.

She was a secretary at the former Peabody Seating Co., North Manchester, and later at Indiana Lawrence Bank & Trust Co., retiring in 1977. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester Historical Society and Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended Ohio North University and was an honorary member of Tri Kappa and the Fine Arts Club, North Manchester.

Surviving are a son, Stephen Walker, Sanford; a daughter, Mrs. John (Karen) Wright, Moore, Okla.; a sister, Rosalie Farmer, Rockford, Ohio; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Manchester Church of the Brethren with the Rev. David Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

No calling is planned.
