Virgil R. Edwards, 82, of 456 E. CR 575N, Leesburg, died at 8:15 p.m. April 17, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born June 2, 1924, in Kanauga, Ohio, to Jack and Ruby Edwards. In January 1952, he married Dorothy Carroll, who survives.
Living in Indiana since 1953, he retired from NIPSCO in 1986 as a welder, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
Also surviving are a daughter, Connie Rohr, Point Pleasant, W.Va.; a stepson, Roger Carroll, Leesburg; a sister, Elsie McKenney, Lorain, Ohio; and many grand- and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and six brothers.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Leesburg Cemetery with Dr. Greg Harden officiating.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
