Violet L. Yoars, 97, Warsaw, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Sept. 26, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. 
She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Huntington County, to Charles and Mary Ellen Dean Cline. On May 3, 1936, she married C. Kenneth Rice, who passed away on April 1, 1982. On May 12, 1984, she married Carl Yoars, who passed away June 2, 2002. 
She was a graduate of Union Center High School, Huntington County. In the early 1950s she and her first husband, C. Kenneth Rice, owned and operated the Quick Clean Laundry in Warsaw. She also worked for several years doing clerical work at Dr. Baum’s office in Warsaw. 
She was a member of First Christian Church of Warsaw, where she was very active in the Warsaw Eastern Star,  loved to play euchre and was a longtime member of Winona Literary Club in Winona Lake. 
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Ellen (and husband Larry) Long, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Rosalie (and husband Tim) Tucker, Amboy; six grandsons: Scott (and wife Jamie) Long, Warsaw; Kim (and wife Heather) Long, Vernon Hills, Ill.; Ryan (and wife Aleah) Long, Tipton; Mark (and wife Lori) Courson, Benicia, Calif.; Brad Courson, Compton, Ark. and Jon Courson, Tampa, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, Guilford (and wife Judy) Cline, Huntington. She also was preceded by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Courson, on March 15, 1984; a grandson, David Courson; and two sisters, Wilda Scott and Ina Graham. 
Services will be at noon Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. 
Calling is from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
