PIERCETON – Viola M. “Vi” Weicht, 86, Blairstown, N.J., and formerly of Pierceton, passed away at 8:10 a.m. July 10, 2015, in her daughter’s residence in Blairstown, N.J. She was born April 6, 1929, in Noble County, to Cecil Edward and Vicie Gladys Howell Knapp. On Nov. 18, 1950, she married Billy S. Weicht, who preceded her in death July 1997. They were married for 46 years. She graduated in 1948 from Wolf Lake High School. She lived most of her life in Noble and Kosciusko counties but resided with her daughter in New Jersey for the past 12 years to help care for her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She retired in 1989 from Weatherhead Corp. in Columbia City after 40 years of service. She attended the Church of God in North Webster. Survivors are: a daughter, Franclin ‘Fran’ Weicht, Blairstown; two sons, Dave (and spouse Barrie) Weicht, Pierceton, and Daniel (and spouse Susan) Weicht, North Webster; five grandchildren: Christi Hedington, Tippecanoe; Amy Johnson, Cromwell; Tristan Weicht, Fort Campbell, Ky.; Claire and Wyatt Zara, Blairstown; four great-grandchildren: Lucas and Devin Stidams, both of Tippecanoe; Teigan Weicht, Fort Campbell, Ky.; Emma Johnson, Cromwell; and two brothers, James (and spouse Ivajean) Knapp, Fort Wayne, and Calvin (and spouse Helen) Knapp, Fort Myers, Fla. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Donald Knapp. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial is in Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery.
