ROCHESTER – The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team improved its overall record to 3-2 on the season, picking up a pair of wins over Caston and North Miami Thursday at the Round Barn Golf Course. Valley’s 199 bested Caston’s 217 and North Miami’s 254. Viking junior Jeremy Julian was the match medalist with a 41. Chandler Newsome turned in a 50, Kane Stellar and John Young both shot 54, and Bryston Canada came in at 59. The junior varsity split its two matches. Caston’s JV came in at 271, Valley at 285 and North Miami at 301. Noah Hoffman and Bryce Madeford paced the Vikings with a pair of 67s. Jacob Hoffman had a 74, Chris Schlipper was at 77 and Jeremy Gagnon at 107. The Viking varsity will tee it up in the Whitko Invitational in North Manchester, while the JV heads to Plymouth for its junior varsity invitational. Both tournaments are Saturday.
