Editor, Times-Union: How often do you play video games? Do you spend more time playing video games than physical exercise? Do you spend as much time growing in your studies as you do playing video games? I don’t like playing video games as much as other people. People should put down their video games and use their time wisely.
My first reason is by putting down your video games, you can get more exercise. For example, you could ride your bike, which will give you exercise, and it’s fun. Also, you could go play a sport with a friend. I like playing volleyball with my friends. I also like to ride my bike with my sister, much more than playing a video game.
Second, when you put away the video games, you could learn to communicate with others better. For example, if you talk more, you can make more friends. I think it’s nice to have friends instead of playing video games. You could spend more time with your family talking. Instead of rushing from the dinner table to play a video game, spend more time talking about your day with your family. I found out my family likes to laugh a lot.
Third, you can learn more from other activities. If you read more, you can learn more. I have read a book called “Whales”, and I learned a lot. If you study, you could raise your grades instead of playing video games. I study my science, and I have learned many interesting facts about plants and animals.
I think people need to put down their video games. I hope that you think it would be more fun to play a sport than a video game. I hope it will make you happy to do all these things and not play video games. Now that you have read this, I hope you agree.
