Victim Of Friday Fire Identified

The victim from Friday night’s fire was identified Monday afternoon as Sarah J. Gibbs, 34, according to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department.
The residential duplex fire occurred at 1031 E. Smith St., Warsaw, at approximately 11:14 p.m.
Once Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory was on scene and the fire was out, a preliminary search was conducted by firefighters. Gibbs, the renter of the residence, was found inside.
Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, along with Warsaw Police Department, Kosciusko County Crime Scene Investigators, Indiana State Fire Marshal Investigator and Kosciusko County Fire Investigation Team completed a preliminary investigation of the scene. Gibbs was removed from the scene and transported to Northeast Indiana Forensic Center, Fort Wayne, where an autopsy was performed Monday.
As of this morning, Fire Chief Mike Brubaker said the investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
