Editor, Times-Union: To all veterans out there, Did you know by showing your VA card a lot of places will give you a 10 percent discount on your merchandise? We recently purchased a new metal roof for our home through Lowe's. You do the math. A 10-percent discount can be quite a bit on a large purchase. Just wanted you to know, as we never knew this until recently. So flash those cards! Money is hard to come by these days and every little bit of savings is a plus. Charlene Witham Mentone, via email
