Verla M. Harter, 80, of Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Goshen Hospital.
Verla was born on Nov. 29, 1943, in Crossville, Ala., and was the daughter of Noble and Mary Frances McCool Christian.
She was a graduate of Warsaw High School Class of 1962.
She worked as a custodian for Warsaw Community Schools. Verla enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of The Salvation Army Church.
Verla will be lovingly remembered by her son, Noble (Karen) Coffing, of New Paris; sister, Mary Lou Kiser, of Leesburg; grandchildren, Cameron (Amy) Coffing and Abigayil (Brenton) Cripe; and three great-granddaughters: Maggie, Erin and Emery. She was preceded in passing by both parents; a son, Walter Coffing II; and a brother.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 4 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Verla’s life will begin at noon on Monday, March 4 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Ken Locke officiating. Interment will follow in New Paris Cemetery.
