Vera Marie Doan, 95, of Warsaw, passed away Dec. 31, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, following an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1917, in Michigantown, to Samuel and Martha Osler Weaver. On May 29, 1937, she married Ralph Doan, who preceded her in death. She formerly worked at Essix Wire and Mallory Cable. She was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church, Elwood, and she enjoyed bowling and crocheting. Surviving are two sons, Paul (and spouse Christina) Doan, Frankton, and Ronald (and spouse Patricia) Doan, Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Joyce (and spouse Kenneth) Knauer, College Station, Texas, and Jean (and spouse Stephen) Whitenack, Leesburg; a sister, Rebecca Fields, Frankfort; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents, and five sisters and two brothers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Rev. Courtley Granger officiating.
