NORTH WEBSTER — Vera M. Platt, 79, Warsaw, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 4, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Vernon, Texas, to Harold K. and Vera M. Martin Kindt.
She graduated in 1956 from Mount Vernon High School, Alexandria, Va., and in 1960 from Southeastern Bible College, Birmingham, Ala.
On Sept. 1, 1956, in Fort Belvoir, Va., she married Henry N. Platt, who preceded her on Nov. 24, 2008.
She moved to Oswego in 1960 from Birmingham and retired in March 2006 from Walmart, Warsaw, after 17 years.
She was a member of Bread of Life Church, Goshen.
She is survived by four daughters: Denise (Roger) Wiggs, Syracuse; Christy Platt, Colorado; Grace (Chad) Tener, Leesburg; and Rachel (Brian) Miller, Warsaw; two sons, Kenneth (Katrina) Platt, Warsaw, and Kevin (Karen) Platt, Leesburg; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her mother, Vera Cox, Pipestone, Minn.; and two sisters, twin sister Jonny (Marvin) Tuinstra, Verndale, Minn., and Annabelle (David) Gilmore, Pipestone.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband; a grandson, Kenneth Platt Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Baylee Rehn Corrao.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Leesburg Cemetery with Pastor Tim Neely officiating.
