Vera Jean Haney, 84, of Warsaw, died at 11:40 p.m. Sept. 30, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born June 10, 1927, in Warsaw, to Ralph and Goldie Smith Huffer, who preceded her in death. She married Charles M. Haney in Las Vegas, Nev. He died Nov. 2, 2002.
She was a nurse at Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, for many years and owned a working farm in Kosciusko County. She was a member of Lambda Chi Omega. She was a good mom and enjoyed and cherished her friendships. She wintered in the Florida Keys and enjoyed the lake life at her home on Pike Lake.
Surviving are a son, Steven C. Haney, Warsaw; Steve’s personal friends, Shirley and children Kyla and Jake Waller; and Vera’s dear friend, Jean Hoover, Warsaw.
A graveside service will follow calling Tuesday at Leesburg Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Corinne Hodges of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
