SYRACUSE - Vera J. Kitson, 92, of Syracuse, died at 6:35 a.m. March 31, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born June 28, 1915, in Dwight, Ill., to John Elmer and Anna Jones Williamson. On June 26, 1937, in Goshen, she married James W. Kitson, who survives.
A lifetime Elkhart and Kosciusko county area resident, she was a 1932 New Paris High School graduate. She was a homemaker, assisted on the family farm and formerly worked at Pettit's Clothing Store and G&W Pizza, both formerly of Syracuse. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, Goshen.
Also surviving are a daughter, Charmaine A. (and spouse Vincent) Doyle, Elk Grove, Calif.; a son, Phillip (and spouse Lorraine) Kitson, Celina, Ohio; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death a sister and a brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Rev. Michael L. Neff officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
