The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department is investigating a 10- to 12-vehicle pileup on Ind. 19 as a result of icy roads and white-out conditions Monday afternoon. Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine said the exact number of vehicles involved had yet to be determined, as at least one driver who left the scene already contacted the sheriff's department. Because officers were kept busy throughout the night and this morning with accidents and vehicles sliding off area roadways, information was not completed on Monday's accident for publication today. No injuries were reported. Two semi tractor/trailers were reported jackknifed on roads in the northern part of the county due to icy conditions, and three area school corporations canceled classes today because of treacherous traveling. Minor injuries were reported in at least one of this morning's accidents. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
