Vassar, Fireworks To Close Out Fair

Today is Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation and Louis Dreyfus Day at the 93rd Kosciusko County Fair.

It's also the final day of the fair.

Country music artist Phil Vassar will help close things out with a concert at 8 p.m. in the grandstand.

Reserved track seats are $20 and general admission seats are $10.

Vassar will perform songs from his new album "Prayer Of a Common Man," his fourth studio album, as well as older hits like "Just Another Day in Paradise" and "Six-Pack Summer."

The 45-year-old Lynchburg, Va., native started his career as a songwriter for such artists as Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and Jo Dee Messina.

There will be farewell fireworks at 10:30 p.m. at the grandstand.

A cornhole tournament starts at 3 p.m. at the activity tent.

10 a.m. - Hook Rug Lady (HFA building)

10 a.m. - Red Brush Village and Mercantile (opens)

10 a.m. - Rug-weaving demonstration (Red Brush village)

Noon - 4-H exhibits open (Shrine building)

1 p.m. - Gates open

1 p.m. - Commercial tent opens

1 p.m. - Carnival rides open (Midway)

2 to 5 p.m. - Show & Shine Cruise (Channel area)

2 p.m. - Farmer for a day opens (commercial tent)

2, 4, 7 p.m. - Mark Preston's Comedy Safari Show (activity tent area)

3 to 5 p.m. - Cornhole tournament (activity tent)

3, 5, 8 p.m. - Kay Rosaire's Big Cat Encounter (Shrine parking lot)

5 and 9:30 p.m. - Shakin Bake (Kerlin free stage)

8 p.m. - Farmer for a day closes (commercial tent)

8 p.m. - Phil Vassar concert (grandstand)

9 p.m. - 4-H Exhibits close

9 p.m. - Open class exhibits close (HFA building)
