Vancouver Cops Arrest Suspect In Milford Scam

Posted

Canadian police believe they may this week have caught the man responsible for defrauding retired Kosciusko County residents.

During a search warrant execution in Vancouver, Vancouver Detective Paul McNamara discovered a $1,500 check in the apartment of Ali Aftab, Vancouver, from a Milford couple defrauded of more than $132,000.

According to a Warsaw Police Department report, the couple have been sending the money, in increments, since January 2002 in an attempt to retrieve a supposed lottery winning of $225 million. They were told that by sending the money they would avoid paying American taxes on the large sum.

Warsaw police are cooperating with Vancouver police in investigating the issue.
