Three people were injured in an accident Tuesday night on U.S. 30. John M. Heit, 68, of Trotwood, Ohio, was driving his van west on U.S. 30 near Van Ness Road when the van drifted to the right side of the road for no apparent reason. It traveled along the apron of the road for 455 feet before it left the road, completely going over a driveway access. The van was reportedly in the air for 144 feet. When it hit the ground, it rolled over twice before coming to rest on the driver's side. Heit and a passenger, Ruth Heit of Trotwood, were treated for back pain at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released. Another passenger, Jeremy May, Tipton, Kan., was treated for knee pain at KCH and released. Damage to the van was estimated at $5,000-$10,000. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
