Valley's Robinson Plans To Attend Rose-Hulman

AKRON - Kyle Robinson, Akron, was one of three seniors in Fulton County to receive a Lilly Endowment Scholarship award Friday after applying for it through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.

Robinson, a 17-year-old Tippecanoe Valley High School senior with an 11.2 GPA (on a 12- point scale) said he was "excited and relieved" to receive the scholarship.

"In Fulton County there aren't really too many requirements to apply," Robinson said. "They just pick the best out of (all the applicants."

The scholarship pays Robinson's full college tuition to any college he chooses to attend in Indiana.

"I'm going to Rose Hulman to study computer engineering," he said. And the thought of not facing school loans after college is a big relief, he said: "I should have more time to focus on education instead of paying my (tuition) bill."
