Valley PBIS Program Awards Students With Lunch

Posted
AKRON – Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports aims to improve Tippecanoe Valley High School's climate and improve student behavior.

PBIS supports all students in all school settings, builds school environments that are more positive, predictable and consistent and also supports growth and achievement in academics and social skills. The principles and practices of PBIS can also be used at home as well as in community settings.

While at school, students are expected to behave in a responsible, respectful and safe manner. PBIS encourages students to have good character, go above and beyond expectations and serve others.

Each week five students are rewarded for their behavior with a certificate, candy and a call home to the parent to let them know that their child was caught “being good”. Out of those, a weekly winner is drawn and they receive a “PBIS Winner” t-shirt (donated by the Army National Guard) and will be taken out to have lunch with Kirk Doehrmann, the principal.

January’s daily winners were Allie Elliot, Jordan Fraser, Aaron Gearhart, James Gregory, Devon Jackson, Brisin Kratzchmar, Mia McHaffey, Sandy Klinger, Jon Martin, Drew Owens, Taylor Peterson and Taylor Trippieddi.

January’s weekly winners were Ivan Jackson, Adam Bridgewater, Kara Eaton and Jocelyn Salmons.

This month, Jarrety’s Restaurant in Rochester provided lunch for this month's weekly winners.
