Valley, Manchester, Triton At Rochester Sectional; Whitko At New Haven

ROCHESTER — Finishing third at Tuesday’s Rochester Sectional, the Tippecanoe Valley girls track and field team will be represented in eight events at next week’s Warsaw Regional.
Culver Girls Academy won the sectional with 137 points, followed by Plymouth (123), Tippecanoe Valley (82), Manchester (72) and Rochester (65.5), rounding out the top five. Triton was seventh with 44 points.
From Valley, it’s lone first-place finish was by its 400 relay of sophomore Jazzmine Brown, freshman Alexis O’Connell, sophomore Caylie Teel and freshman Karis Tucker, which won in 52.36.
Teel was also a runner-up in the 100 and junior Hailee Hunsberger also had a second-place finish, that being in the discus.
The top four finishers from each sectional event advance to regionals, which will be this Tuesday at the Tigers Athletic Complex.
From Manchester, Bekah Brunn was the sectional champion in the 100 hurdles (16.41) and Lindsey Dierks took the title in the high jump (5-2).
From Triton, Jaela Meister advanced to the regional in three events, as senior Breanna Lemler did in the 400 and so did the 3200 relay.

Tuesday in New Haven
The Whitko girls track and field team had two individuals and a relay advance out of Tuesday’s New Haven Sectional. By finishing in the top four at the sectional, Whitko’s Josie Sparks advanced in the 400 with her third-place finish and Miranda Terrill was fourth in the high jump. The Lady Wildcats 1600 relay also finished fourth, moving on to this Tuesday’s Fort Wayne Northrop Regional.
