Valley Holds Budget Meeting

Posted
AKRON - The Tippecanoe Valley School Board approved a motion at Monday night's meeting to advertise the corporation's 2010 budget.

The board heard a presentation from Dr. Daniel Kramer, assistant superintendent, on the budget.

Kramer asked the board to approve the motion to allow the budget to be advertised in local newspapers.Kramer noted that some slight changes may take place because the state's annual budget workshop is taking place Aug. 12, which is later than usual.

"This is going to move us back a bit," said Kramer. "We have the budget ready, but we want to wait just in case."

As a result of the late state budget meeting, the regular school board meeting was moved back to Aug. 17 at Mentone Elementary School.

There will be another budget hearing Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the administration office.

The budget will first appear in newspapers Aug. 19 and again Aug. 26.

The budget will be adopted at the September school board meeting.

The tentative total budget for 2010 is $22,725,743.
