MENTONE - The Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. will announce its new band director at the school board meeting Monday.
A source close to the school corporation said today that Jim Bueter, 819 Pemberton Drive, Fort Wayne, an assistant from Fort Wayne Snider, will be named to the position. Board members will first accept the resignation of the current Valley band director, Jerry Stallsmith.
Tippecanoe Valley principal Charlie Mills told an area newspaper earlier this week that an offer had been made and "he's accepted the position." However, Mills would not confirm who the candidate is.
In February, Michael Pearson resigned as band director amidst charges of sexual misconduct with a minor. He was charged with the crime Feb. 22.
The school corporation hired Stallsmith, an Ohio resident, as the replacement.
