AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team completed its Three Rivers Conference with a 61-40 home win over Southwood Tuesday night. Valley finishes the TRC at 5-2, while it sits at 11-6 overall heading into its regular-season finale Thursday at home against the Culver Girls Academy. Senior Cara Hoffman led the Lady Vikings’ offensive attack, scoring 24 points, followed by junior Caylie Teel’s 12 and freshman Anne Secrest’s 10. Secrest also posted a game-high 15 rebounds, as well as two assists and two steals, while Teel accompanied her point total with five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. BOYS BASKETBALL Tuesday in Bourbon Along with beating Marshall County’s travel advisory, the Triton Trojans also took care of Argos Tuesday night. Playing only a varsity game at 5 p.m. to avoid incoming weather, Triton didn’t waste any time, jumping out to a 19-9 lead, riding it to a 69-39 victory. Skyler Reichert led the Trojans with 19 points and Tanner Shepherd netted 17, followed by Joey Corder’s 12. Corder also had eight rebounds and two steals. The 8-5 Trojans host Mishawaka Marian Thursday night.
