Valley Finishes Third At TRC Meet; Triton Eighth At NSC

DENVER — At North Miami High School Saturday, the Rochester wrestling team took home the Three Rivers Conference Tournament title, while Tippecanoe Valley was third. The Rochester Zebras won the title with four champions and 208 points, while Tippy Valley had two champions, en route to 178 points. Winning for Valley were Devin Childers at 126 pounds and Wes Beck at 182. Also from the area, Whitko finished sixth with 150.5 points, led by Lane Wolf’s 120-pound title, and Manchester was seventh with 141.5 points, as Clayton Moore won at 126 pounds and Cole Sellers was the 285-pound champion. Each local team will be in sectional action Saturday, as Tippy Valley goes to Plymouth, Manchester is at Peru and Whitko travels to Carroll. While New Prairie was winning Saturday’s Northern State Conference Meet at Jimtown with 231 points, Triton finished last with 75. The Trojans’ top finishers were Joseph Soriano (106) and Austin Wagers (113), who each finished fourth. Triton will be at Saturday’s Plymouth Sectional.
