SYRACUSE — The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team advanced to Monday’s sectional semifinals in dramatic fashion. After giving up three runs in the top of the seventh, Tippecanoe Valley and Fairfield were tied at 5-5 during first-round action of Class 3A Sectional 21 at Wawasee High School. But just as the Vikings gave up the lead, Valley’s Clayton Adamson drove in the winning run in the bottom of the frame, moving his team on to the next game. Up next for Valley is West Noble Monday at 9 a.m. A win over West Noble would put the Vikings in the 5 p.m. championship. Senior James Hackworth got the start for Valley, going six innings, striking out five, giving up three hits and two runs. Clayton Adamson entered in seventh, blew the save, but because of his winning base hit in the bottom of the seventh, he was named the winning pitcher. Offensively, Jacob Ritchey had two hits, while Hackworth and Tanner Andrews each posted a triple.
