AKRON – Vada Irene King Coplen, 93, of Akron, passed away Jan. 5, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Perry Township, Miami County, to Martin Luther and Rosella Barnhisel King. On Sept. 17, 1939, in Crown Point, she married  Wayne Devon Coplen, who died Dec. 22, 2000.
She attended Akron United Methodist Church and was a member of the former Gilead United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three children, Judy Kay Harvey and Larry K. Coplen, both of Warsaw, and Ronald L. Coplen, Akron; two grandchildren, Douglas Neil Harvey and Pamela Sue Harvey; a niece, Roberta Sue Shanks; and a nephew, Richard Carl Lamb. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Lamb, Freida Fawley  and Helen Bernice King.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by her cousin, Hal W. McClain, of McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Ind.
