V. Elaine Cook Evans, 68, of Fort Wayne, died at 11:50 p.m. July 9, 2011, in her residence.
She was born Oct. 27, 1942, in Warsaw, to Paul Orlando and Mabel Naomi Lackey Cook. On April 5, 1986, she married Paul Evans, who survives. Formerly of Warsaw, she lived in Fort Wayne for 25 years. She formerly worked in the accounting department at United Telephone System. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Fort Wayne.
Also surviving is a brother, David Cook, Leesburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph E. and W. Edward Cook, and two sisters, Dixie Stabler and Gloria Moore.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Todd Spain officiating. Burial will be in Cook’s Chapel Cemetery, Warsaw.
