Use The Rod

After reading Sara's letter further I must agree that children should not be handling guns at all period. And an 8-year-old child just shot and killed himself as a result of that. Where were the parents when this transpired? Parents should diligently supervise their children at all times.

Today, kids have lack of proper respect for parents, teachers, police officers, etc. And they don't have any kind of respect for any kind of authority at all - period.

Whatever happened to please and thank you? Whatever happened to "yes, sir" or "yes, ma'am"? Whatever happened to good manners and proper decorum? They must have went astray and flew right out the window. If the boy's parents would have instilled proper discipline in that boy, then none of this would have transpired in the first place. If that boy would have received proper supervision he would still be alive today.

Many kids today come from single-parent families where the mother or the father are working all the time. And in this particular case the kids are left unsupervised and are left meandering the streets. And many of them end up having a brush with the law. And many kids end up getting involved in guns, alcohol and drugs, etc. And many kids end up carrying guns and knives to school. And many teachers and students end up getting shot and killed as a result of their negligence. And many kids end up joining gangs and either end up in prison. And they either end up killing somebody or are found dead themselves.

These parents should start disciplining these kids at all times. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Raise up a child in the way he should go, and when he grows old, he shall not depart from it. We should be proactive and start disciplining our children right away or else the police and the court system will.
