ELKHART COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced the closure of U.S. 6 for a culvert replacement.
Starting on or after Sept. 23, crews will replace the box culvert between Ind. 15 and CR 21. Work on the project is expected to be complete by mid-October. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change, according to a news release from INDOT.
During the closure, through traffic should use the official detour of Ind. 15, Ind. 119 and Ind. 19, or seek an alternate route.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
