A mother and two children escaped injury this morning after sliding off the eastbound lane of U.S. 30, west of Pierceton. Amanda Tarner, 29, Warsaw, was eastbound on U.S. 30 when the accident occurred. Two small children, ages 1 and 2, were in child restraints in the back seat. Pierceton Police, Fire and M-TEMS responded. Icy weather conditions contributed to numerous accidents and school closings in the area this morning.
