U.S. 30 Crash Injures Two

A Goshen man is in critical condition in Fort Wayne today following an accident Tuesday on U.S. 30, west of Warsaw.

Stanley Rose, 41, Goshen, was transported from Kosciusko Community Hospital to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, following the 3:09 p.m. accident at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 150W.

The accident occurred when Rose's pickup crossed into the path of a westbound dump truck driven by Corbin Ray, 30, Bluffton.

Ray's dump truck, carrying limestone, flipped onto its side, with the pickup stuck on the front of the vehicle from the impact of the collision.

Rose, unconscious at the scene, was removed from the wreckage by Warsaw Fire Department's "Jaws of Life." He suffered head and pelvic injuries and was listed in critical condition today.

Ray suffered minor injuries. He was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department investigators said Rose was on the south side of the intersection stopped at the stop sign and attempted to cross the highway in one move.

Ray told investigating officers he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision. It is unknown if Rose was wearing a seat belt, authorities report.

Also assisting at the scene of the accident were Plain Township and Multi-Township emergency medical services, Indiana State Police and the State Highway Department.

The accident remains under investigation by the KCSD.
