U.S. 30 Crash

Two men were injured in a crash early this morning at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 750W, Atwood, with one being taken  to a Fort Wayne hospital by helicopter. The accident happend at about 5:25 a.m. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Steven Cooper, 52, Warsaw, was northbound in his Chevy pickup truck on CR 750W. When he approached the intersection with U.S. 30, he said he stopped, looked both ways and then proceeded onto U.S. 30. He said he didn’t see the oncoming Toyota SUV, driven by William McIntire, 27, Knox, until after the two vehicles crashed. Cooper complained of pain but signed off on medical attention. McIntire suffered pain to the right leg and pelvis and was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital. Damage was estimated to be between $10,000 to $25,000. Photo by Gary Nieter.
