Updated: Drug Bust Nets 11 Arrests

Eleven people were arrested in the past few days on drug-related charges.
According to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department, “In its continuing effort to reduce the influence of illegal drug activity in and around the Warsaw community, Warsaw Police Narcotics Officers concluded several drug investigations with arrests today. Around noon, Warsaw Police fanned out over the area and served multiple arrest warrants after undercover purchases of prescription medications were made.”
Arrested and charged with dealing in a schedule I, II, III or IV controlled substance, a class B felony, and having $10,000 surety only bonds, were:
• Toni L. Butts, 46, 3895 N. Meadow Ridge Drive, Warsaw
• Emerson C. Butts Jr., 24, 423 E. Arthur St., Apt. E, Warsaw
• Lawrence E. Cameron, 48, 423 E. Arthur St., Apt. E, Warsaw
• Nathan A. Ghrist, 32, Warsaw
• Roy G. Lewis, 60, of 7881 E. CR 500S, Pierceton
• Sierra L. Scaife, 18, 3895 N. Meadow Ridge Drive, Warsaw
• Bonnie J. Smith, 33, Columbia City
• Andrew Spears, 23, 599 E. Market St., Warsaw
• Debra K. Starr, 52, Warsaw.
Upon serving the warrant on Spears, officers also found additional prescription drugs packaged and ready for sale, and a quarter pound of marijuana. Additional dealing charges will be filed on Spears.
Also arrested Wednesday was Kendall J. Kerlin, 27, Warsaw, on a class A felony charge of dealing in a narcotic drug within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, a class D felony. She had a $10,000 surety only bond.
Joshua J. Hamilton, 31, 314 S.Columbia St., Warsaw, was additionally arrested for possession of a schedule I, II, III or IV controlled substance, but faces a $7,500 bond.
Charges for additional people are being sought and more charges are expected.
