Update On Construction Worker Killed Friday; Driver Named As Joshua Ratliff

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office released more details Monday in the ongoing investigation of Friday afternoon’s fatal crash on?Ind. 13 near Waco Drive that killed construction worker Ben Fisher.
Fisher, 29, Plymouth, was working for Traffic Control Specialists Inc., based in?Knox. Prior to the collision around 2 p.m., Fisher and a co-worker were removing road construction signs along Ind. 13 in a utility pole project area, the news release states. Fisher and his co-worker were loading the signs into a Chevrolet Silverado, which was parked facing south along the west side of Ind. 13.
Joshua Ratliff, 33, North Webster, was driving a 2000 Ford F150 southbound on?Ind. 13, north of Fisher’s location.
According to KCSO’s statement, preliminary results of the investigation indicate Fisher was struck by Ratliff’s F150 while Fisher was walking along the driver’s side of the Silverado. After the initial collision, Fisher was thrown into the driver’s side of the Silverado.
The co-worker was pushed by the Silverado into the ditch and refused medical treatment. Ratliff did not complain of any injuries.
Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
