The 2011 United Way of Kosciusko County Campaign was started with a number of Pacesetters: Carson’s (Elder-Beerman), Martin’s Super Market, Stonehenge Golf and Country Club and Symmetry Medical.
This group of businesses agreed to holding their campaign early and allowing United Way to use their results to motivate and encourage participants to strive for growth.
The employee campaigns that were run for this year’s Pacesetter campaigns each presented an increase in total dollars given to the United Way.
Carson’s employees contributed through the campaign and held a special event for their customers. Throughout the Pacesetter campaign they sold paper t-shirt cut outs with each transaction. This aspect of their fundraising allowed the public to get involved and help Carson’s to make a great impact in Kosciusko County.
This is the first year for Martin’s Super Market to participate in the campaign in Kosciusko County. There employees were asked to give through payroll deduction.
Symmetry Medical emphasized the importance of making the community a great place to live and work. Symmetry has been increasing their campaign over the past few years. However, through exciting events, group meetings, games and prizes, they saw their largest increase to date during this year’s campaign.
Stonehenge Golf and Country Club ran a unique campaign during August for the United Way of Kosciusko County. Stonehenge donated, for the first time to the local United Way, by contributing the entire fees for any new full membership that came in during August.
As a group the companies that Kosciusko County called United Way Pacesetters united together pledged close to $51,655 to the local United Way. The increase is more than double what the same companies contributed to the 2010 campaign. This will assist the organization in reaching the $2,210,000 campaign goal and is also a motivation for other businesses in Kosciusko County.
