Hendrix announced that with Zimmer and a couple other large firms still making collections, the 1997 campaign had reached 92 percent of its goal of $950,000. "The goal will be reached by the end of December," Hendrix said. Also during the evening, Hendrix honored dozens of businesses for their contributions and volunteerism.
